2026 Celebration of Learning
Every summer, after the close of the school year, the READ RVA community comes together to celebrate the accomplishments of our determined students.
Last Saturday, READ RVA’s annual Summer Celebration of Learning welcomed our students, their friends and family, our teachers and tutors, staff, and board members to join together to celebrate the many milestones reached by our hard-working students. Everyone in attendance enjoyed music, food, and great company. We always relish spending time with one another outside of structured learning time.
Here’s a snapshot of what we celebrated for the 2025-2026 school year:
301 students were served through our free adult literacy programs.
14 students graduated the READ RVA program, better equipped to move on and reach their personalized goals in life. (We will miss them terribly!)
Our oldest graduate was 91 years of age! Our youngest graduate was 19 years of age!
Students worked toward their goals, with many advancing grade levels in their literacy learning, while others accomplished specific tasks like sitting for the GED exam, leading a Bible study, or better understanding materials sent home by educators with their children.
